First of all, given the circumstances related to the Corona-virus, I’m doing good! Hope you are all safe and healthy.
Since I received a question about possibly adding a voice-over to my blogposts, I want to let you know that, for now, I also posted a video over on my YouTube channel, which basically has the same announcement(s) that I’m sharing over here. You can find the video at the end of this post! ☺️
I am still figuring out what to do about the voice-overs/podcast/automatic reading programs… I would really like for my blog to be open for everyone. Basically, I got a question from someone, asking me if I was able to include some sort of automatic reading program to my posts for people who can not read that well. That way they are also able to follow my blog. Honestly, I felt like it was so nice to get this question, because it never occurred to me that this would be a bonus on my blog AND it means that people would like to follow my blog even though they are struggling. The thing that I am struggling with, is that the automatic reading programs aren’t always very good. I would much more prefer to record some sort of audible versions myself, so that I can also describe the pictures. Of course, this also takes up a lot of my time and since I was already struggling to combine a social life, work life, a blog and making YouTube videos, I didn’t really feel like I was able to add this extra work to my schedule. So, I’m definitely trying but still figuring out how to act upon this question. If you have any tips for me, please leave them in the comment section below, I would really appreciate it!
The next thing I wanted to talk about is the mental struggles that I had since starting my new job. I wanted to keep working on my blog and YouTube so badly, but there didn’t seem to be any time to do it. I was caught in this vicious cycle: being tired and drained from work – not really wanting to do anything anymore – not feeling inspired anymore – not being able to work on my blog – not having an escape from work life – …
Next to that, I was also not really liking my content. I don’t know why, but every time I would start writing something on here, I just left it in the drafts folder, being very insecure about what I had written. Same with my videos. It seemed like I always found something that wasn’t right. Now, I’m trying to convince myself that you can’t get anywhere without trying. If that means that there are some typos here and there, or not every picture is as great as I would like it to be, it’s more important to do what you love. I love sharing my blogposts and videos, especially if I know someone was waiting for them, or if I get a response. Even if it’s just one person, it truly warms my heart. So now, with a different mindset, I made up a schedule that I’m going to try to follow. That way there should be a new blogpost and video every week! YAY!
On a different and more happy note: my boyfriend and I bought a house! Everything happened so quickly and we went from seeing the pictures to actually having bought it in less than 3 months! We didn’t expect it to happen at all, since I didn’t have a job at the time I saw the pictures of the house and obviously that is important before a bank wants to loan you money. If everything goes well *fingers crossed*, my boyfriend and I will move in during the summer of next year. The house is currently being built and we are still looking into the kitchen and bathroom and how those are going to be designed. At this point, we are fairly sure about the layout and look, but we are still waiting on price offers from other people to see what would fit into our budget. We don’t have to figure this all out ourselves, since we kind of bought into a project, which means that the contractor does everything for us, we only have to tell him what we want. This makes things a lot easier!
I’m truly excited about the future and I’m looking forward to moving in together with my boyfriend. We have been together for a while now and are ready for the next step. By the time we move in, one of the first parties will probably be our 10-year anniversary, which is exciting!
