At the beginning of the summer I started bullet journaling and one of the things I incorporated was a summer bucket list. I actually found myself looking at it, now that the summer has made room for fall and I just thought it would be nice to see if I’ve ticked everything off on my list. I’ll also be sharing some of the memories I made completing the bucket list. Are you ready?
One of the first things my friends and I did during the summer was going to a fair. We won some Angry Bird cuddly toys and I tried cotton candy for the first time in my life! I thought it was a really funny texture and it tasted like nothing much, but I enjoyed the entire experience!

One of the things I also wanted to do was to be a tourist in my own city. Me and my boyfriend decided to take our bikes and ride around to discover some new spots. I already knew the roads we took since I grew up in this village but my boyfriend had never seen the spots we went to and I enjoyed our little trip a lot! We took some pictures for my instagram and I found a grain field where we also stopped to enjoy the calmness and peacefulness.

Since both my boyfriend, my mom and I are celebrating our birthdays in the summer, I had quite some opportunities to bake a (birthday) cake. I ended up making a lactose-free and gluten-free cake for my boyfriend since he is currently on strict diet. It was quite hard to find a recipe for a cake that he was allowed to eat and even though I doubted if it was going to be a success, everyone enjoyed the cake! I did forget to take a picture though which was stupid of me, but I also made a regular whipped cream and fruit cake for my moms birthday which I do have pictures of!

One day I also want to mention in this post, is the day I went to see ‘The Lion King’ in the cinema. It was a really lovely day, starting early in the morning to catch an early ‘uitzending’ of the movie. I was so excited to see it, since ‘The Lion King’ has always been my favourite Disney movie. I used to watch it so much as a child, I knew (and still know) almost all the words, going from songs to dialogs. A small detail is that I had the cassette tape in English, which isn’t my mother language, so it wasn’t until later that I truly understood what they where saying haha! After the movie, we went to the zoo and I also love doing that. We had a lovely day, one to remember forever.

I made some really fun memories with my friends whilst doing some things that where on my bucket list! I made a summer playlist and we listened to music during a fun bbq- and pool-day. I won’t be sharing the photo’s that we took that day, because people where wearing swimming shorts and bikini’s and I know not everybody wants to share this with the world, but believe me when I say it was a very fun day!

In the pet shop I found this kit to make popsicles for dogs. I decided to buy it for Ruby and made them to get her through the heat. She enjoyed them a lot and it was a pleasure to see her excited for it.

There were also a few things I ticked off when I was on holiday. Of course I ate more than one ice cream, but the cutest I had was definitely in Valencia from Amorino. They shape your ice creams like roses and you can choose as many flavors as you want. I also got to go to the beach, walked barefoot and buried my toes in the sand. Both in Valencia and London I discovered new places with my friends. We even went on a bike ride in Valencia, which is surprising to me, since I’m not much of a bike-person (lol).

One thing I wanted to do during the summer was reading. I ended up reading about 4 books I think, which isn’t as much as I aspired to read, but I’m still happy with the amount of reading that I did. There where an endless amount of lazy days this summer, complete with a lay in to start the day with a smile.

There are only 5 things I didn’t get to do which I do regret, but I will definitely try to do them next summer! I really liked having a summer bucket list because it gave me some ideas on what I wanted to do and because it inspired me to make the most of the summer!
What’s your favourite memory from the summer of 2019?
